Last spring we captured some amazing engagement photos of Scott & Sam here during a beautiful sunset on a wonderful day. This was our 3rd session with them so we have had a lot of time to build a rapport with these two amazing people. When we arrived we did not think we would get a sunset but mother nature did not disappoint. We got lucky to have a sliver of sun peak out threw the clouds at the last moments and got a few stunning images. We wanted to take a more fine art angle with this images, because of all the beautiful colors. However we also took some time to get a few cute more candid photos.
Some tips for taking sunset or sunrise images at the Tulip Festival:
Give yourself time - arrive an hour before sunset or sunrise
Prepare for mud- appropriate shoes are very important
Go on a weekday - as the weekends are full of people and events
If you are changing outfits for the session, Know that you will need to change in your car or in a port-a-potty

Keep your expectations in check - not everyday is going to be a stunning sunrise or sunset
To get shots like the ones above, have a photographer who knows flash
