Molalla River State Park Family Photos

It was such an adventure capturing spring family photos at Molalla River State Park in Canby, Oregon. “Molalla River State Park has grassy field areas for picnics and games and a pet exercise area where you can let your dog run off leash. Fishing is a popular activity, and a boat ramp gives you convenient river access. No boat? You can cross the river on the Canby Ferry, located a quarter mile downstream. It's one of three ferries still in operation on the Willamette River. Fruit, vegetable and flower stands abound seasonally in some of the finest farmland in Oregon.” -State of Oregon Website

We love working with the Eagles family and this was no exception. As we captured their wedding, maternity, newborn, cake smash, and yearly sessions. It’s been amazing watching Korban grow up thew each one of our sessions. This year we are excited to be capturing Ashley (who is Chris’s Sister) and Wesley’s wedding this spring and celebrating the joyful event with the whole family. During this session we also got to capture a few family photos and a few engagement photos of Ashley and Wesley.

We know it can take a little time for your family to warm up to the camera and thats ok. We tell silly jokes or dance around like fools so you feel better about being in front of the camera. At the end of the day we strive to make any session a timely and efficient, yet fun and relaxing experience.

Some tips for making family photos a fun experience:

Don’t go into the session hungry.

Bring a change of clothing for children

Offer rewards for the whole family (Dad’s love this)

Don’t deviate from your kids nap time schedule

Don’t rush while getting ready, give yourself ample time

Pick a photographer you vibe with

And above all, laugh and go with the flow!
