Vintage Trouble Concert Portland Wedding | April + Rodger

Last winter we got to capture April & Roger’s elopement during a Vintage Trouble concert at the Hawthorne Theater in Portland, Oregon. We started with getting ready at Jupiter Next and a first look at the hotel before they had to change back into something less conspicuous for the concert and to be a part of the sound check and bus tour.

This is one of the most unique elopements we have ever captured and it was a blast!!! After rushing over to the venue for the sound check we got to hang out and listen to the band warm up (the lead singer was running late so once he arrived they invited the VIPs to the tour bus to hang out and sing a few songs) Watching April & Roger take it all in was the best part, we got to follow them around and take photos while being VIPs. After chilling in the tour bus we went back to Jupiter Next for dinner with a small group of family & friends.

Then we went back to the Hawthorne Theater for the concert and wedding. It was amazing to be able to take photos of the show and listen to the music. Everyone was so nice and the music was amazing. After an hour at the show, April went to change into her wedding dress again to get ready to get on stage to get married. When it was time she walked threw the crowd escorted by security to the stage where Roger was already waiting.

They got serenaded by the band then it was time to get married! It was one of the coolest weddings we have ever seen. The love, passion and happiness was very palpable. As is with most concerts, it was very dark, and that along with limited vantage points in where we could shoot from. The challenge of capturing this magical wedding was quite an adrenaline rush!

After they said I do and sealed it with a kiss, they came back and we went in the hallway to take a few family photos then went outside to take a couple images of them. It was so quick and lucky Eric had an idea of the shot he wanted so we could accomplish it in the limited time. Capturing a wedding during a concert was such an adventure and we love unique weddings as they really showcase who the couple really are and what they love!
